Natural Rubber

Natural rubber is collected from the rubber tree (hevea brasiliensis). After making an incision in its bark, a milky substance called latex is obtained. This raw material is collected in a container and the way in which it is handled afterwards depends on its purpose.

Natural rubber is a very versatile material, it can be kept in liquid form for the manufacture of products such as gloves, balloons and condoms. Or it can be converted to its solid form, first as a clot and then as granules (TSR-10), for the production of goods such as tires, shoe soles, hoses, floors, rubber bands, conveyor belts and others.

Clots undergo a maturing and subsequent granulation process, in which 3 to 4 mm diameter particles are obtained that are later pressed and presented in technically specified rubber bales, under the TSR-10 denomination; a clean and homogeneous product suitable for the needs of the different rubber consuming industries.
