At Mavalle we look after the social welfare of our employees and the prosperity of the neighboring communities.
Likewise, we are characterized by being an inclusive organization, in which people, regardless of their gender, ethnicity or beliefs, are able to be part of a team that seeks to collectively generate prosperity.
Social impact
Out of the more than 900 people we employ in Mavalle, 47% are from the area, 22% are from one of the ethnic groups in the region and come from the Umapo, La Victoria, Unuma and Wacoyo reservations in the Meta Department and Cumaribo in the Vichada Department, and 16% are women in both operational and administrative positions within the company.
The existing benefits for our employees, are not limited to a purely monetary one, but we also look after their personal development and emotional stability, these two being imperative for the Labor Welfare program. For that reason, within the initiatives that are promoted and executed in the organization, actions of recognition, cultural, sport and recreation activities, celebrations and extralegal benefits in all the process areas and levels of the company, are taken into account.
At the same time, a large number of projects have been developed with neighboring communities, such as Cultivando Sueños (Cultivating Dreams), it is an initiative that promotes the healthy recreation of more than 60 children and young people, through the development of activities that require the multiple intelligences that each human being possesses.
Likewise, initiatives, such as the plan for decent housing, the development of the Wacoyo botanical garden, the structuring and consolidation of Wacoyo governance and the structuring and implementation of the Wacoyo recreation and sports plan, have been developed alongside the Wacoyo population.
The work that we develop with our employees and the surrounding communities leads us to a virtuous circle. This, because most of our workers come from these communities, and consequently, by positively impacting our employees, we not only make them feel comfortable in Mavalle, but we also positively impact their families and social environment. Similarly, the work we develop with the community, allows the employee to focus on their work, to feel satisfied and knowing that their family and neighbors are also benefiting from the presence of Mavalle in the region. In this way, we achieve our goal of encouraging a sense of belonging and increasing the motivation of our employees in their daily work.
